Job Description
Village of Westbury Seeks Cleaner Full time position, Monday thru Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm The Village of Westbury seeks a Cleaner to perform routine cleaning duties and related duties in all Village owned facilities as required.
Typical duties:
- Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors, corridors, and stairs
- Cleans lavatories
- Empties trash receptables
- Washes walls, windows from the inside of buildings, and partitions
- Waxes floors as needed
- Moves furniture as needed
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs such as smoke detectors, light bulbs/light fixtures, doors and locks/hardware, walls, windows, paint, minor plumbing repairs such as clogs or small leaks.
- Triages more significant repairs and arranges with outside vendors to complete repairs.
- Arranges for routine maintenance of village facilities such as scheduling elevator/lift inspections, monitoring AED equipment, fire extinguisher inspections, alarm systems, gutters, boiler inspections, etc.
- Shovels snow, cleans sidewalks, yards, and driveways, manages lawn care, and makes minor repairs to equipment.
- Prepares orders and replaces janitorial supplies as needed per Village Procurement Policy
- Works with Building Department Supervisors and Recreation Coordinator to address building concerns
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Buildings, Superintendent of Public Works, Mayor, or Village Clerk-Treasurer.
