Substitute Cleaner

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Substitute Cleaner to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will provide essential cleaning and custodial support across various locations, ensuring that all spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Assist with floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance Support custodial activities including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning tasks to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report them promptly Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks as assigned Maintain cleanliness logs and complete shift reports to document completed tasks and issues encountered Qualifications Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and floor care procedures such as buffing and waxing Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness Good physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently when needed Join us in creating clean, safe environments that make a difference every day!
