A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
The cleaning specialist will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This position requires a strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all designated areas, including hallways, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.
Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and baseboards.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels).
Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
Replenish cleaning supplies as necessary and report inventory levels to supervisor.
Follow safety protocols while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ensure that all areas are free of debris and maintain a tidy, organized work environment.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
Adhere to company policies and procedures and contribute to a positive team environment.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
General Requirements:
Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
