A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

FTE Job Summary:
The Head Custodianis an individual with site-based leadership responsibilities responsible for overseeing daily custodial operations in a K-9 school setting. This position ensures a clean, safe, and well-maintained learning environment by coordinating custodial staff, performing hands-on custodial and light maintenance work, and supporting building operations, safety, and security throughout the school day.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license required. Prior custodial or facilities experience required; experience coordinating or leading staff preferred. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use basic computer systems and district technology applications.Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a school and custodial environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; bending, lifting, twisting, and repetitive motions required. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, equipment, and varying indoor and outdoor conditions. 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. and 260 days per year.
