Duties Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating areas, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment Handle laundry duties efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and garments in accordance with healthcare standards Use proper chemical handling procedures to safely manage cleaning agents, disinfectants, and other chemical agents in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition Follow strict sanitation protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections by adhering to infection control guidelines and safety protocols Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment without injury Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning activities, safety checks, and supply inventories to ensure compliance with health regulations Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or similar environments is highly preferred Knowledge of OSHA standards related to chemical handling, safety procedures, and infection prevention is essential Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices is a strong advantage Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while following proper lifting techniques for heavy objects Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude toward patients, staff, and visitors Familiarity with floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, polishing, and carpet cleaning is desirable Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards Join us in making a meaningful difference by ensuring our healthcare environments are safe, clean, and welcoming.
