Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Evening Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment during evening hours. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive cleaning and custodial tasks across our facilities, ensuring that all areas meet high standards of sanitation and appearance. Your proactive approach will contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. This position offers an opportunity to work independently while making a meaningful impact on the cleanliness and safety of our environment. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without compromising safety. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed. Maintain the cleanliness of floors through buffing, polishing, and floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and longevity. Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials to ensure continuous availability. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention. Skills Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles within commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of custodial equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures. Strong understanding of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining a hygienic environment. Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while practicing safe lifting techniques. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed. Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures and industrial cleaning methods for diverse environments such as residential or commercial spaces.
