CLASSIFIED SUBSTITUTE POSITION

Substitute Custodian

On call, as needed

SALARY:

$22.00/hour

A full BCI (Ohio) and FBI (Federal) background check must be completed and sent to the Ohio Department of Education, upon offer of employment.

Ohio law requires candidates for employment in schools to have a criminal records check. The Ohio Department of Education will verify that a records check is satisfactory for issuance of a teaching license or educational aide permit. For initial employment by any organization, the records check must be no more than 12 months old, even if you are currently working for another educational organization. Cost for background check completed at Loveland Schools is $50, cash, check or charge.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Cleans and maintains assigned areas and repairs or reports repair needs by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Cleans assigned school areas.

Performs duties required to maintain assigned areas in proper condition.

Performs work outside including mowing grass, trimming shrubs and other general maintenance of district grounds.

Collaborates with building principal and head custodian to ensure all duties are completed.

Attends additional training as needed.

Assists with unloading trucks as needed.

Cleans snow and debris from sidewalks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Must have successful prior work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current Drivers License.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory based on school objectives. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to use computers where applicable. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
