What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The full time custodian (midnight) help to keep Stark State buildings, offices and classrooms clean, sanitary and orderly condition. In this job you will play an essential part in ensuring that students enjoy well maintained and clean facilities while they're focusing on their studies. What you do matters here!
Typical Hours of Work:
Typical hours are Sunday through Thursday 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Location:
Main Campus, North Canton.
Pay:
$ 15.23 - $19.80/hour (based on experience), plus a $0.60/shift differential.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
Maintain Building Cleanliness:
Clean and maintain floors, windows, walls, fixtures, restrooms, ceilings, furniture, boards, carpets, and other building areas; remove trash and perform routine cleaning duties.
Facility Maintenance & Work Orders:
Submit work orders for repairs and maintenance issues and report building or equipment problems as needed.
Room Set-Ups & Moving:
Prepare rooms for events and activities, including arranging and moving furniture and other items according to requests.
Floor Care & Recycling:
Perform floor stripping and waxing, carpet care, and recycling functions at the main campus and satellite locations.
Operational Support & Flexibility:
Fill in for staff absences and perform other assigned duties; operate vehicles to transport items between buildings as needed. Work schedules and duties may vary, including extended hours or on-call assignments, based on facility needs. To view the full job description, click here. To be
Considered You'll Need:
High School Diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) record. The ability to operate cleaning equipment and the ability to frequently carry up to 25 lbs. and lift 50 lbs. Preferred Qualifications (although not required): 10 hr.
