A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Industrial Cleaner to support daily operations within our industrial ceramics manufacturing facility in Shreve, Ohio. This role is ideal for a professional who takes pride in maintaining cleanliness, enjoys variety in their daily work, and can self-manage tasks effectively. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for employees and visitors alike.
Responsibilities :
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, and other common areas throughout the plant not tied to a specific work center. Perform routine cleaning of floors, windows, walls, furniture, machines, equipment, trash, and recycling receptacles. Maintain cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment as needed through the supervisor. Manage daily tasks independently, ensuring all janitorial duties are completed to the highest standards. Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities and cleaning projects. Communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams. Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Ability to follow both written work instructions and verbal directions closely. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred but not required. Familiarity with various cleaning products, tools, and equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 60 lbs. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and airborne particles. Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
