A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

•5.0 Worthington, OH Job Details From $17.85 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Automobile transportation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Purpose Under direct supervision, the Custodian assists with the safety, security, maintenance and cleaning of library buildings and grounds Essential Position Functions Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and refills dispensers Completes general maintenance of floors, walls, windows and blinds, carpets and furniture Empties and cleans trash receptacles Prepares rooms for meetings according to meeting room set-up requests Responds to Facilities Help Desk tickets and emails Assists with the safety and security of buildings and grounds Maintains outside walkways, including sweeping debris and snow removal Collects and delivers materials and supplies between library locations, as needed Moves furniture, equipment, supplies and tools, as needed Performs minor repairs, as needed Education, Training and/or Experience High school diploma or GED A minimum of one (1) year of paid work experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records Ability to work accurately with attention to detail Ability to retain and follow library policies and procedures Ability to use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand-operated tools Knowledge of security, buildings, grounds and equipment maintenance requirements Certifications, Licenses, Registrations A valid driver's license and a vehicle that is registered with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and insured as required by Ohio Mandatory Insurance Laws. Travel between library locations using your personal vehicle is required. Physical Demands Ability to move up to fifty (50) pounds, daily Ability to stand for extended periods, daily Travel by automobile is required occasionally Ability to perform repeated reaching, bending, climbing and squatting, daily Working Conditions Majority of work performed in general office/library environment Requires periodic participation and attendance at events and training Works outside in adverse weather conditions Wears appropriate protective equipment as required
