A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Janitor A client of ours in Hillsboro is looking to add a Janitor to their team. This position provides janitorial support for a public facility, ensuring buildings and common areas are clean, safe, and ready for daily operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with janitorial experience who enjoys hands-on work, maintaining clean spaces, and providing support in a community-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Services, supplies, cleans, and sanitizes restrooms, public areas, and building facilities. Maintains trash and recycling receptacles. Provides assistance and customer service to building liaisons and staff as needed to maintain operational functions of the site. Performs basic unclogging practices on sinks, drains, and toilets. Receives, organizes, and maintains inventory of supplies. Maintains log sheets and records activities as needed to accurately document service activities. Prepares meeting rooms for events, including arranging tables, unlocking doors, and cleaning up afterward. Provides support and assistance in the planning and execution of special events. Performs inspections on building facilities and reports signs of damage or wear and tear to the supervisor. Operates cleaning equipment as needed to respond to cleaning situations that may arise during the course of the day. Performs basic floor care maintenance and pressure washing as assigned and needed by the building. Maintains records and information according to applicable policies, procedures, and retention guidelines.
Requirements:
2 years of janitorial experience preferred. Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, solutions, and janitorial equipment. Ability to follow safety practices and proper chemical dilution procedures. Must be able to pass a background check. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Valid driver's license and safe driving record preferred. Limited English speakers encouraged to apply.
