A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

New Life is a thriving multi-generational, multi-cultural, multi-congregational church with a focus on helping people take their next-steps in finding & following Jesus. In the past few years we have seen strong growth in both gathering people for worship and in sending them out on mission. We've grown from 800 to nearly 1,400 in weekend worship attendance, launched a growing Spanish-speaking congregation, launched a growing online campus, increased engagement with our neighborhood in community transformation and strengthened relationships with our local and global mission partners. ABOUT THE FACILITIES TEAM MEMBER ROLE
The Facilities Team Member is responsible for supporting the Operations Team through providing Custodial and Maintenance Support.
GENERAL AREAS OF OVERSIGHT
Cleaning and restocking of restrooms Vacuuming of all carpeted areas Mopping of tile and vinyl surfaces Cleaning windows Cleaning Offices and pulling trash Opening and closing of buildings, including setting alarms General landscape maintenance Communicating and interacting with office staff, lay volunteers Minor repair and maintenance as assigned Any other duties as assigned.
OTHER AREAS OF LEADERSHIP
Communicate with "walkins" as necessary
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic working knowledge of cleaning techniques Basic working knowledge of landscape maintenance Basic maintenance repair Ability to read schedules and diagrams Pass a background check Must have transportation to and from work

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or
GED PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Experience in Facilities and/or Custodial Ability to operate a MS Computer
WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT
: Indoor work 90% of the time, 10% outdoor environment. Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals Occasional exposure to loud noise Frequent lifting of 15 to 30 lbs,, occasional lifting of 35 to 100 lbs Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout the workday Ability to climb ladders and walk on uneven surfaces Ability to transition from indoor to outdoor environment with substantial temperature changes Ability to recognize potential safety hazards and correct them Ability to work around large groups of people Ability to work on your own.
Physical Job Description Typical Working Conditions:
Office and Church environment, with occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold. Occasional exposure to allergens and colognes and perfumes.
