Job Description
Who We Are & Why This Role Matters:
CR Sustainability manages waste diversion operations at major venues across the country. In Portland, we support one of the city's largest sports and entertainment venues during games, concerts, and special events. Our work helps ensure trash, recycling, and compost are handled correctly while keeping thousands of pounds of material out of landfills. We are growing quickly and looking for dependable leaders who take pride in hard work and helping others succeed. The Sr. Team Member is a working leadership role. You are expected to lead shifts, direct staff, solve problems, and keep operations on track while actively working alongside the crew. This is not a stand-back position. You will be in the operation, hands-on with the team, helping do the work while leading it. This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, earns respect through work ethic, and wants to grow into future management opportunities. What You'll Do Lead assigned shifts and help ensure the operation runs safely, efficiently, and professionally Direct team members throughout the shift and adjust assignments based on real-time needs Work hands-on alongside the crew sorting trash, recycling, and compost during events Move bins, carts, liners, and materials as needed to support operations Jump into any task necessary to keep the shift successful Hold employees accountable to attendance, productivity, conduct, and safety expectations Address routine employee issues professionally and escalate serious concerns when needed Train new hires and help reinforce standards with current staff Communicate staffing issues, incidents, shortages, or operational concerns to management Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each shift Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts if trained/certified Represent the company professionally with coworkers, venue staff, and guests When You'll Work This is event-based work. Weekly hours and shift times can vary significantly based on the event calendar. Shifts may be during the day, evening, overnight, weekends, or holidays Some weeks may offer substantial hours and overtime opportunities Other weeks may offer fewer hours depending on scheduled events Flexibility and availability are important for success in this role What We're Looking For Reliable attendance and strong punctuality Proven leadership ability in fast-paced work environments Leads from the front and is never above the work Able to direct others firmly, fairly, and professionally Calm under pressure when problems arise Good judgment and ability to solve issues in real time Strong work ethic with willingness to perform physical labor for full shifts Comfortable working in dirty, wet, loud, or fast-moving environments Able to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and move carts, bins, or materials as needed Strong communicator able to use a company phone for calls, texts, and photos Able to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish Prior stadium, venue, warehouse, janitorial, waste, facilities, or event experience is a plus Forklift certification is a plus or willingness to become certifiedCompensation & Benefits:
