DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Custodial Duties Sweeps/scrubs/waxes/ polishes concrete, vinyl, tile and wood floors Vacuums rugs/ carpets in offices/ rooms Cleans/dusts walls, chalkboards, furniture, woodwork and other equipment Picks up paper and other refuse on grounds Sweeps walks and entrances Washes/ scrubs/disinfects/supplies restrooms Empties/cleans waste containers Cleans windows, door glass and drinking fountains Cleans/polishes metal work such as door panels and hand railings Replaces light bulbs and maintains equipment used in course of work Other Department Responsibilities Moves/rearranges chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment Operates college owned vehicles and equipment Completes cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings and grounds as required Safety & Security Reporting Reports safety/sanitary/fire hazards to supervisor Assists in maintaining security of buildings and college equipment Other Functions Performs all other job-related duties as assigned May clean up blood and body fluid spills as needed using prescribed hazardous spill procedures and guidelines Institutional Expectations Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practicesCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

This level requires an equivalency of two (2) years of full-time work experience related to the essential functions and duties of the position listed above.- OR•An Associate's Degree in General Studies or any related associate level degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of professional level custodial experience.Core Competencies:
Ability to use specialized and common hand and power tools Knowledge of maintenance and operations Must be able to work independently and problem solve issues Knowledge of basic sanitation principles and equipment; chemicals and their usage. Sanitizing and cleaning; maintaining a safe and healthy working environment; using buffers, vacuums and other custodial equipment; mopping and waxing floors communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SCHEDULE & MODALITY
Monday- Friday 6:00 pm
- 2:30 am May require flexible work schedule to meet department/program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment at the 6 pay rate This position has a 6-month probationary period All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. Medium Work:
