A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment across all areas of the facility. Your work will ensure that our spaces are welcoming, hygienic, and functional for employees, visitors, and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of offices, common areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces. Maintain cleanliness and order in high-traffic areas, including hallways, lobbies, kitchens, and conference rooms. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to support sustainability initiatives. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked. Support special projects, including event setups, seasonal deep cleaning, and facility upgrades. Follow all health and safety protocols to create a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants. Monitor the cleanliness and safety of exterior areas, such as walkways, parking lots, and entrances.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance roles is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and procedures. Basic maintenance skills (e.g., minor repairs, plumbing, electrical work) is a plus. Strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently. Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks as needed. Excellent communication and time management skills.
