What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm Reports to:
Administrative Supervisor Supervises:
N/A Job Summary:
To clean and maintain assigned areas, buildings, facilities and grounds within the County.
Essential Job Functions:
Janitorial Duties:
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs or polishes floors. Cleans offices including desks, windows and hallways. Cleans restrooms including toilets, sinks and floors. Performs trash removal and moves supplies to designated locations.
Equipment Operation:
Able to operate vacuum cleaners, hand tools, scrubber, electrostatic sprayer & buffing machine.
Product Ordering and Stocking:
Tracks stock and prepares monthly list of cleaning items needed for completion of job tasks. Attends training, seminars or in-services as required. Performs other job-related duties as required and as assigned. Minimum Requirements to Perform the
Work:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
6-12 months working experience in custodial environment preferred.
