SUMMARY:
The Machine Cleaner is responsible for using approved detergents and sanitation methods to clean and sanitize processing and packaging equipment, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for the production of quality food products. This role ensures that equipment and facilities are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and all applicable government sanitation requirements. The Machine Cleaner performs plant cleaning tasks as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintains general housekeeping standards throughout the facility. This position requires the safe operation of powered cleaning equipment, which may include lifts and boom lifts, scissor lifts, pressure washers, foam applicators, steamers, compactors, motors, and other manual or non-mechanized tools. The role requires the ability to work at heights of up to 40 feet using lifts or booms, work in subzero temperatures (with PPE provided), and perform tasks in confined spaces. The Machine Cleaner works independently, maintains a high level of efficiency, and is responsible for learning and following proper Allergen Elimination Procedures.
PRIMARY:
Employees are expected to work on their assigned sanitation team, with primary responsibilities focused on completing tasks outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule. Employees will be trained to properly clean and sanitize the production equipment and areas to which they are assigned. All sanitation team members are expected to develop working knowledge of all production areas, including Cake, Pastry, and Toast, to support facility needs as required. Assignments may vary based on relative crewing and operational needs across the facility.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE
1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
