POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs standard janitorial duties and routine manual labor tasks in maintaining County properties in attractive, clean and sanitary conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs germicidal cleaning of General Services and other assigned offices, miscellaneous equipment and office areas. Sweeps and mops all floors and stair areas and strips and waxes floors. Empties trash baskets and ashtrays and dusts furniture, baseboards, windowsills, etc. Washes walls and light fixtures as required. Cleans kitchenettes, lavatories, and bathrooms and maintains supplies for them. Periodically removes and rehangs curtains and draperies for washing and/or dry cleaning. Cleans outside patio and exit areas. Employees may be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
