Much of the work is in unoccupied buildings, and you are welcome to take care of it when it fits into your existing schedule, including nights and weekends. Our small family businesses, Heritage Restoration and Repair along with Property Management International Greater Philadelphia, are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Professional Plus (meaning your role will creep into maintenance operations) to join our team part-time or full-time depending on experience. You will primarily be cleaning rental apartments and houses before tenant move ins and after move outs, post-construction cleanup, and occasionally pre-lead inspection cleaning in Philadelphia rental units. There is also a need for regular cleaning of common areas in small apartment buildings and home owners associations, and cleaning of exterior spaces such as lawns that collect litter. Fall leaf cleanup can be included as well as spring cleanings prior to lawncare starting. You will also be utilized for other adjacent tasks such as delivering and/or spreading rock salt during the winter, light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, smoke detector batteries. We also envision asking you to possibly handle small paint touch ups and/or light duty pressure washing. We are willing to train, and there is room to grow your hours quickly if you are someone who would like to take a more active role in maintenance and property inspection work as well. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of residential spaces, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, and carpet cleaning, windows, walls, baseboards, appliances, cabinets, kitchen/bath/utility spaces, and fixtures such as lights and fans. Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure a hygienic environment. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively. Manage outdoor work responsibilities, including outdoor surface cleaning and debris removal. Occasionally communicate directly with clients to understand their specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service. Manage time efficiently to complete all assigned tasks within scheduled timeframes while maintaining quality standards. Requirements You must have reliable transportation that can hold your basic needs. A car is fine for this. Our service area stretches from Lower Bucks county through Philadelphia to upper Delaware county, and out to eastern Montgomery County. Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services. Knowledge of cleaning detergents, surface cleaning techniques, floor care, and sanitation standards. Ability to safely work with heavy duty cleaners caustic or acidic products such as Easy-Off oven cleaner, ZEP industrial purple cleaner/degreaser, acidic toilet bowl cleaners, acidic grout cleaners, and more, Ability to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and outdoor work activities such as trash pickup from lawns/common areas. Strong organizational skills with excellent time management abilities. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day such as scrubbing, wiping, sweeping. Experience with various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and other tools is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning procedures for different surfaces including carpets, tiles, hardwood, and vinyl floors is advantageous. Knowledge of using Google, Chat GPT, etc., when confronted with an unfamiliar task, or willingness to ask for help/information is a must. We sometimes need to do some extreme cleaning after a tenant moves out. We are a non-smoking and no drugs bunch. Tobacco, vaping, and other related things are strictly prohibited on our worksites. You must maintain a professional appearance and composure at all times. To be extremely clear, showing up clearly under the influence of anything is grounds for immediate termination. Taking a last drag and throwing your cig out on the sidewalk before walking in is completely unacceptable behavior. Sneaking a vape and blowing it out a window is also completely unacceptable behavior. You can fill in the blanks from there. If you maintain any such habits that would lead to such behavior, working for us is likely going to become untenable extremely quickly unless you area able to keep it completely out of sight while working.
