Janitorial Worker Job Description The Janitorial Worker maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing a variety of general cleaning and housekeeping tasks in rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and offices throughout the facility. Responsibilities Perform general janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness and order throughout the facility. Clean and sanitize unoccupied rooms to prepare them for future use. Clean and disinfect common areas, including hallways, lounges, and shared spaces. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Clean offices and workspaces, including dusting surfaces and removing trash. Vacuum carpets and rugs in rooms, offices, and common areas. Wash windows and glass surfaces to maintain a neat and professional appearance. Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas. Replenish basic supplies in restrooms and common areas as needed. Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff. Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning duties. Essential Skills Experience performing general janitorial duties. Experience with housekeeping tasks in a facility or similar environment. Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to complete repetitive physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting during the shift. Attention to detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained. Reliability and consistency in completing assigned tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles. Comfort working in a setting that serves youth groups and community organizations. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quarryville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
