This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, maintaining custodial equipment and supplies, identifying needed repairs, and supporting facility operations. Essential Responsibilities Complete assigned cleaning duties according to the established daily schedule. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize surfaces, remove trash, and collect recycling. Clean windows, restrooms, common areas, program spaces, and other assigned areas. Replenish soap, paper products, and other facility supplies. Operate motorized and non-motorized cleaning and maintenance equipment safely. Maintain custodial equipment and assigned work areas in good condition. Identify, document, and report needed repairs, unsafe conditions, or facility concerns. Complete minor repairs or maintenance tasks as directed. Help ensure the building and property remain secure during the assigned shift. Report incidents, hazards, damage, or security concerns promptly to a supervisor. Assist with furniture and room setup for meetings, programs, and special events. Perform seasonal duties, which may include snow removal, groundskeeping, lawn care, painting, window washing, and pool-area cleaning. Follow all YMCA safety procedures and manufacturer instructions when handling cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. At least six months of custodial, cleaning, maintenance, or related experience is preferred. Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and safe handling practices is preferred. Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, safety information, and equipment manuals. Ability to recognize and report maintenance and repair needs. Ability to work independently, manage assigned responsibilities, and maintain a consistent cleaning schedule. Dependable attendance and the ability to complete assigned work with limited supervision. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with YMCA members, guests, and employees.
