Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Working under the direction of the Janitorial Program Supervisor, the Custodian cleans and services residents' rooms, community areas and office areas in a safe, efficient manner.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Six (6) months of custodial experience is preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be cleared according to Act 169 in areas required. Needs to be able to work a flexible schedule work time. Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are desired. Will become competent in areas designated by program policies. Is to adhere to established company and program policies and procedures related to safety and infection control. 18% Dry and wet mops hard floors. (E)
  • 15% Vacuums, spot cleans, or shampoos carpets when assigned. (E)
  • 15% Uses floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wall-washing equipment, waste collecting equipment, etc. (E)
  • 10% Collects and transports refuse; cleans and relines refuse containers with plastic bags
  • 10% Cleans sinks, tubs, showers and toilets. Polishes bright work and cleans mirrors. Empties trash, sweeps and mops floors with disinfectant cleaner. Replaces all paper and soap supplies. (E)
  • 10% Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture including beds, dressers, and lamps. (E)
  • 5% Cleans top of windows, door frames and other high places. (E)
  • 5% Polishes stainless steel and other bright work. Cleans glass. (E)
  • 5% Cleans venetian blinds and drapes. (E)
  • 7% Strips or scrubs and refinishes floors when assigned. (
