Role:

As a Drain Cleaning Technician, you will diagnose and clear blocked drains, restore proper flow, and help customers understand the condition of their drainage systems. You will work at homes and commercial properties, using appropriate tools and safe procedures to resolve problems while protecting the customer's plumbing and property.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect sinks, tubs, floor drains, and sewer lines to identify drainage problems. Select appropriate cleaning methods based on the blockage, pipe condition, and access points. Operate drain-cleaning machines and related equipment within your training and authorization. Remove obstructions and verify that drainage has been restored. Use sewer inspection cameras when trained and assigned to do so. Identify signs of damaged pipes, root intrusion, or recurring problems that require further evaluation. Explain findings and approved service options without making unsupported repair promises. Protect floors, fixtures, and surrounding areas during service. Document work performed, inspection findings, equipment used, and follow-up recommendations. Coordinate with dispatch and other technicians regarding job progress and additional service needs. Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and the assigned service vehicle. Follow procedures for electrical safety, rotating equipment, wastewater exposure, and personal protective equipment. Escalate unsafe conditions or work outside your qualifications.

Requirements:

Previous experience in drain cleaning, plumbing service, or a related hands-on trade. Familiarity with common drainage systems and causes of blockages. Experience using mechanical drain-cleaning equipment safely. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Professional communication and a customer-focused approach. A valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned jobs. Ability to complete service records using a phone, tablet, or other job-management tools. Ability to perform essential field duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to complete required training and comply with applicable licensing requirements.

Pay:

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
