A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Office/Work Center Weekly janitorial service for approximately 3,300 sq. ft.; 1,750 sq. ft. tile and 1,600 sq. ft. carpet; individual offices receive waste basket pickup only. Recreation Sites Chattooga Picnic Area, Burrells Ford, Highway 76 River Access, Grapevine, Long Bottom Ford/Low Water, Earls Ford, Highway 28, Yellow Branch, Woodall Shoals, Sloan Bridge, Whetstone, and Cherry Hill Campground. Fixed Service Days Recreation services are fixed for Monday only in winter and Monday/Thursday in peak season. Office/work center day is Tuesday or Thursday as finalized by the Government. Government Furnished Office/work center supplies, disinfectants, deodorizers, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and basic equipment stored on premises. Contractor Furnished Labor, supervision, transportation, supplies/equipment for recreation sites, 60-gal bags, 14-gal liners, 2-ply toilet paper, recreation cleaning chemicals, additional equipment, and disposal/recycling services. BPA Call Control The BPA establishes terms and pricing; work begins only after an Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without compromising safety. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, supplies, or equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices. Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies as needed. Operate cleaning machinery including vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal floor care. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or hazards identified during cleaning routines. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any facility-related concerns promptly and professionally. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with commercial cleaning techniques and equipment such as floor buffers and cleaning carts is advantageous. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures ensures safe use of cleaning products. Experience with industrial cleaning or Porter roles can be beneficial in understanding diverse cleaning environments. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods is essential.
