Job Summary and Qualifications Our Environmental Services Associates are on the front lines of preventing the spread of infections in the hospital. In this role, EVS colleagues have important contact with patients and clinical staff every day and use specialized janitorial tools and techniques to promote a healing environment. What You Will Do In This Role Performs routine manual tasks to clean and care for an assigned area, to include but not limited to the linen room and/or waste handling on a daily basis; cleaning and care related to areas in public assembly areas, and patient care areas, therapy areas, halls and foyers. You will use products, equipment and protective gear to clean and disinfect patient rooms on a daily basis, offices, rest rooms, and other public places as needed and requested. You will remove trash, dirty linen from rooms and sharps containers from respective locations in and around the hospital. You will follow all standard procedures in the safe disposal of infectious and hazardous waste materials.
What qualifications you will need:
Healthcare or service-related industry experience is highly preferred Experience working with hazardous waste materials is a plus Must have good communication skills with the ability to speak and understand both the written and oral English language Must have the proven ability to work and cooperate with team members and with other departments, as necessary No Travel Required No experience Required Years of Experience Benefits Medical City Decatur, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
