Custodian Job Summary:

The Shop Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout both the shop floor and office areas. This role ensures all workspaces—including industrial, administrative, and common areas—are clean, sanitary, and presentable to support daily operations and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and maintain shop floors, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris Dispose of trash, recyclables, and shop waste in designated areas Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and locker areas Maintain cleanliness in office spaces, including desks, floors, windows, and common areas Dust and wipe office furniture, equipment, and high-touch surfaces (phones, keyboards, door handles) Vacuum carpets and mop hard flooring in office and administrative areas Clean glass surfaces, mirrors, and entryways Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and office sanitation items Maintain cleaning equipment and report any repair or replacement needs Follow safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment Assist with basic shop and office organization and minor maintenance tasks as needed Respond to spills or urgent cleaning needs promptly

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not always required) Previous janitorial, custodial, or office cleaning experience is a plus Ability to work independently and follow instructions Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
