Immediately Job Description 2026-2027 Custodian Responsibilities Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures Required Experience A minimum of 90 days (or a period of time as determined by the custodian supervisor) as an LPISD Substitute custodian preferred or Experience in a custodial work environment preferred

Tools/Equipment Used:

Twenty-inch (20") rotos, automatic floor machines, carpet extractors, commercial vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, 24-and32-ounce wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment and tools, products and supplies.

Posture:

Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion:

Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching

Lifting:

Heavy lifting required up to forty-five (45) pounds unassisted frequently

Environment:

Work is both outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders required; may work alone

Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions Other Information The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly. Assignment Days 240 Pay Grade 1

Custodial Shifts:

Elementary and Junior High:

6:30am-3:00pm 10:00am-6:30pm 1:00pm-9:30pm

High School:

6:00am-2:30pm 1:30pm-10:00pm Shift assignments are assigned upon hire and based on needs of campus/district.
