This role is vital in ensuring that all spaces are hygienic, well-organized, and welcoming for staff, clients, and visitors alike. You will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and supporting overall facilities maintenance to uphold high standards of sanitation and appearance. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle various chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk. Use custodial tools and equipment efficiently for tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces. Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture or equipment as needed for cleaning or maintenance purposes. Maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas and ensure proper sanitation protocols are followed throughout the facility. Support minor facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed for safety or operational efficiency. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries while handling industrial cleaning supplies or performing manual handling tasks. Assist with special projects like residential painting or industrial cleaning when required to support broader facility upkeep efforts. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers is advantageous. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable. Experience with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or custodial duties enhances your suitability for this role. Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence related to heavy lifting, chemical handling, and manual handling practices is essential.
