Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Equipment Technician to join our custodial team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of custodial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting the smooth functioning of our operations. Interested candidates should apply at www.mansfieldisd.org/careers Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and related machinery. Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, technical drawings, and testing tools like ohmmeters to identify faults accurately. Perform mechanical repairs on equipment components, including belts, motors, pumps, and hydraulics, utilizing mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment mechanics skills. Interpret technical drawings and schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems effectively. Utilize maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) procedures to ensure proper parts replacement and system upgrades. Test electrical circuits and components through diagnostics to ensure safety standards are met before returning equipment to service. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for compliance and future reference. Skills Strong electrical diagnostics skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. Mechanical knowledge related to custodial equipment repair.. Experience with heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable for troubleshooting. Proficiency in using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and diagnostics. Familiarity with interpreting technical documentation to facilitate accurate repairs. Technical proficiency in operating diagnostic tools and understanding MRO processes. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high safety standards. This role is essential in maintaining the operational excellence of our facilities by ensuring custodial equipment functions optimally at all times.
