Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition. Conduct floor care activities including buffing, polishing, stripping, and sealing floors to ensure durability and appearance. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention. Follow heavy lifting and safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment to prevent injury. Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas while ensuring compliance with health regulations. Support industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning projects as needed, demonstrating versatility in custodial responsibilities. Contribute to a safe work environment by following safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any facility-related concerns promptly and professionally. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial or industrial cleaning environments is advantageous. Experience handling chemical agents safely within a custodial setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation including floor buffers and other custodial tools. Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Background in facilities maintenance or general upkeep roles enhances suitability for this position. Strong understanding of sanitation standards, safety protocols, and chemical handling safety procedures is essential. Customer service skills that enable effective communication with staff and visitors are beneficial for success in this role.
