Duties Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial machinery to maintain pristine floor conditions. Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols. Conduct heavy lifting tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move supplies, furniture, or equipment as needed. Maintain sanitation standards through regular trash removal, surface disinfection, and restroom upkeep. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (including residential painting), and general upkeep to support overall building operations. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines during all cleaning activities and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or industrial setting. Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and sanitation procedures. Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely and knowledge of chemical agent safety procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed. Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs and painting is a plus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment like floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial tools efficiently.
