In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our premises during evening hours. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help maintain a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained facility while honing your custodial and maintenance skills in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, adhering to all safety protocols. Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and touch-ups in residential or industrial environments. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting of supplies or equipment while following safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Operate floor care machinery like buffers and polishers to maintain pristine flooring conditions. Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed or hazards identified during nightly rounds. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures ensures safe and effective use of agents. Experience operating floor buffers, scrubbers, or other custodial equipment is preferred. Background in facilities maintenance or porter roles demonstrates versatility in handling various upkeep tasks. Knowledge of safe manual handling practices for heavy lifting and equipment operation is essential. Previous work involving industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning projects will be considered an asset.
