Job Summary:

The job responsibilities of the Sanitation Technician are to maintain a clean and safe work environment within the production plant which includes the machinery and equipment as well as the surrounding areas of the facility. Due to the environmental range, temperatures range from 34°F while inside the plant to over 100°F while outdoors or dry storage.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:

Perform daily sanitation activities within the processing plant as well as outside, surrounding the processing plant. Ensure food safety and food defense in the manufacturing plant. Implement all GMP and HACCP procedures related to cleanliness, food safety and pest control. Promote a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program, keeping safety a priority throughout all day-to-day functions. Assist in maintaining the supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations. Daily communication and interaction with Food Safety/QA team and Production team. Complete all required sanitation records, monitoring programs and forms as required. Perform related duties as required. Proactively support our continuous improvement process; participate with a positive team spirit

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED 2 years or more of work in sanitation involving food manufacturing Must understand the various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning skills to meet HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements Basic understanding of inventory methods Eager to take responsibility for results while reliably showing good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness Must have good written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual is a plus Must be reliable, able to work independently and work in a team environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and multiple deadlines. This is a physically demanding position that requires heavy lifting up to 30 pounds as needed, involves repetitive motions and standing for the entire shift. Schedule is Monday-Friday; flexible schedule may include some weekends, off-shifts, and holidays. 2 Openings for Day shift positions: pay rate is $16.00 per hour

Food Manufacturing Plant Work area temperatures may vary by activity; primary work is within a refrigerated, cold environment Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
