A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Performs all general required tasks as directed by the Foreman and Leads Performs all tasks within proper safety guidelines, company guidelines, and as directed by management Performs assignments according to company schedule and as expected by the customer Performs janitorial tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests. These are performed to published schedules and within explained guidelines. These tasks often include the following: Loading and unloading into buses and company vans. Uneven walking surfaces (i.e. gravel parking lots) Climbing/Sweeping/ Mopping of stairs Working with industrial-strength chemicals Bending to empty and re-line trash receptacles Lifting and carrying multiple large bags of trash to the dumpster Lifting boxes of supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels) Sweeping and mopping large areas Sweeping with dust mops Vacuuming large, carpeted areas Lifting mop bucket with water and cleaner inside Dusting areas as needed Bending to clean toilets Bending to get supplies from cabinet under sinks Cleaning countertops and tables Clean microwaves and coffee bars Dusting and cleaning water coolers Cleaning windows and glass surfaces Cleaning walls and doors. Cleaning smoking areas as requested by block managers Lifting items 50 lbs and under Moving of chairs and tables Pushing/Pulling Janitorial cart Exposure to high temperatures and weather Cleaning of Laboratory areas (potential exposure to other chemicals) Must have steel toe boots with defined heel Must have Driver's License ZACHRY is dedicated to providing a Safe and Drug-Free work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #LI-SM1
