Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks across our facilities to ensure they meet high standards of cleanliness and safety. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a polished appearance. Handle janitorial responsibilities including trash removal, restocking supplies, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and ensuring equipment is in good working order. Operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Support industrial cleaning projects when required, including high dusting or specialized cleaning tasks. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies inventory, and maintenance activities to ensure accountability. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care methods, and custodial equipment operation. Experience with industrial cleaning processes and facilities maintenance is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and bending or reaching as needed. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety standards. Basic understanding of safety procedures related to chemical handling and equipment use. Prior porter or facilities maintenance experience is a plus; certifications in custodial services or related fields are advantageous.
