Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, lobbies, and offices using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and custodial tools. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning and sanitation processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment efficiently. Maintain the cleanliness of floors through buffing, floor care techniques, and industrial cleaning methods to ensure a spotless environment. Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and general upkeep to uphold building standards. Use cleaning equipment properly and perform routine inspections to ensure all tools are functioning correctly and safely. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities, including chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation practices. Respond promptly to custodial requests from staff or visitors, providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude. Assist in portering duties by managing supplies distribution, waste removal, and ensuring common areas are tidy at all times. Qualifications Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning standards. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation best practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques. Experience in facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or painting is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff and visitors. Strong adherence to safety protocols and safety protocol adherence in all custodial activities. Prior porter experience or background in industrial cleaning is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
