Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity The Orem Development Services Department is currently hiring for Custodians. These are part-time, non-benefited positions responsible for the cleaning of City Buildings, including the Scera Pool and the Orem Family Fitness Center. Custodians are responsible for cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors, emptying trash cans, etc. Qualifications This position requires the knowledge of materials and practices used in the cleaning of City buildings and pools. Ability to perform duties that require physical effort such as bending, stooping, walking and climbing ladders. Ability to perform some heavy lifting of equipment and supplies - up to 100 pounds. Knowledge of and the ability to use custodial supplies and equipment. Ability to read and understand directions on cleaning products; measure and mix according to directions as required. Ability to receive, understand, and execute directions from a supervisor and maintain effective relationships with the public and City employees. Some experience in custodial work is desired. Must have valid drivers license and good driving record. The successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation. Pay and Benefits $15.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Variable-hour employees are also eligible to purchase an annual family pass to the Orem Family Fitness Center at the highly discounted rate of $100 per year. Schedule 20-24hrs/week.
