Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Worker to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall sanitation of our commercial or institutional spaces. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of a professional setting while developing your skills in cleaning, custodial procedures, and facilities maintenance. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas using various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal on a scheduled basis. Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning tools to ensure optimal results. Follow safety protocols consistently during all cleaning activities to promote a secure work environment. Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or light repairs when needed. Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to cleaning requests or concerns from staff or visitors. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and custodial equipment operation. Familiarity with chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning supplies. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following safety protocols diligently.
