Overview We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have prior custodial or janitorial experience and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Able to work in non-climate-controlled facility and outdoors. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and conduct heavy lifting/manual handling of supplies Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure environmental safety and personal protection. Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and other high-traffic areas through disinfecting and cleaning procedures. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and used efficiently. Follow safety guidelines consistently to prevent accidents or injuries during custodial activities. Support other departments with general plant housekeeping duties. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and custodial equipment operation. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following established safety procedures. Physical capability for manual handling tasks including lifting heavy objects and prolonged standing or walking. Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety compliance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff. Understanding of safety protocols related to chemical handling and heavy lifting practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established routines.
