Facility Cleaner (Part-Time) Virginia Horse Center Foundation Lexington, VA Join Our Team The Virginia Horse Center Foundation is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Facility Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, exhibitors, event participants, staff, and horses. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys staying active, and appreciates working in a unique equestrian setting. Position Summary Facility Cleaners clean, sanitize, and maintain public and staff areas throughout the Virginia Horse Center campus. Due to the nature of our outdoor facility, dust, dirt, and debris require continuous attention. Successful candidates will be dependable, thorough, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism. Part-Time Employee Competitive hourly pay Flexible scheduling Supportive team environment Opportunity to work at one of the nation's premier equestrian facilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean buildings, hallways, stairwells, and common areas Empty trash receptacles and remove waste Clean and disinfect restrooms and high-touch surfaces Steam-clean carpets and floor coverings Clean windows, mirrors, and glass partitions Dust furniture and scrub surfaces Wax and buff floors as needed Set up and break down tables and chairs for events Identify and report maintenance and repair needs Respond to emergency cleaning situations Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment Operate housekeeping equipment and golf carts Assist other departments as needed during events and special projects Follow all safety procedures and workplace policies Qualifications Required Skills Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills Dependable work ethic and positive attitude Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED 2-3 years of custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and golf carts Equal Employment Opportunity The Virginia Horse Center Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
