Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role ensures that all spaces are hygienic, well-organized, and adhere to safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for cleanliness, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to facilities maintenance. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle various cleaning agents safely, following chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk. Conduct custodial tasks including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting to uphold high hygiene standards. Operate cleaning machinery and tools efficiently while adhering to safety protocol guidelines for equipment use and manual handling. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting in residential or commercial settings to support overall facility upkeep. Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy furniture or equipment to prevent injury and maintain a safe work environment. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any damages or safety hazards promptly for swift resolution. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the proper handling of chemical agents. Ability to operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial vacuums safely and effectively. Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects or equipment. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude when interacting with staff or visitors. Familiarity with safety protocols related to chemical handling and general facilities maintenance. Prior porter experience or background in industrial cleaning is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
