Why This Role Matters The Janitorial Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, clean, and high-quality environment through effective leadership, operational oversight, and team development. This position is responsible for supervising janitorial staff, maintaining service excellence, supporting employee success, and ensuring compliance with company policies and contract requirements. The Janitorial Supervisor also partners closely with leadership and support teams to maintain productivity, quality standards, and workplace safety while fostering an inclusive and positive work environment. What You Will Do Lead, direct, and oversee daily janitorial operations and cleaning activities to ensure site cleanliness and contract performance standards are met. Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate employees engaged in cleaning and facility maintenance activities. Plan, assign, and monitor work assignments to ensure completion within established timelines and quality expectations. Conduct inspections of completed work and provide coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action as needed. Address employee concerns and resolve operational issues while escalating matters appropriately when necessary. Maintain adequate staffing levels by monitoring attendance, punctuality, and scheduling needs. Review employee leave requests and provide recommendations to management for approval in accordance with company policy. Monitor employee timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, submit repair requests, and coordinate distribution of tools and materials. Partner with Rehabilitation and support staff to ensure individual program plans are followed and reasonable workplace accommodations are implemented. Support recruitment activities by participating in interviews and making hiring recommendations. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Ensure employees operate equipment safely and comply with all workplace safety requirements and procedures. Complete required operational reports, documentation, and administrative records accurately and timely. Complete and maintain all required training and certifications. Specialized Floor Care Responsibilities Serve as the subject matter resource for commercial floor care operations. Oversee hard surface and resilient floor maintenance activities. Supervise floor equipment operators and ensure proper operation, maintenance, and safe use of commercial floor care equipment within commercial and/or federal environments
Requirements:
What You Bring Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required. Experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or environmental services operations preferred. Experience supervising teams in commercial and/or federal environments preferred. Skills & Abilities Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials and background clearances in accordance with contract requirements. Have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old. Must have a valid Real ID for access to the work site. Knowledge of industrial cleaning products, floor care processes, and janitorial equipment operation. Strong leadership and employee management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions. Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and communicate effectively with employees and leadership. Experience training, supporting, and resolving personnel matters within a diverse workforce, including employees with disabilities. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the organization positively with employees, clients, and the public.
