This role combines culinary responsibilities with custodial duties, ensuring that our schools are hygienic, well-maintained, and efficiently operated. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic to support both food service and cleaning operations seamlessly. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste disposal. Perform janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across all facility areas. Handle cleaning equipment safely, including floor carpet cleaner, vacuums, and chemical agents used for sanitation. Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards. Follow proper chemical handling safety procedures when using cleaning agents or industrial chemicals. Adhere strictly to safety protocols during manual handling and heavy lifting activities to prevent injuries. Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and health regulations in food preparation and cleaning processes. Perform custodial tasks that promote a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors. Experience Prior cooking, custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety protocol guidelines. Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe lifting practices to prevent injury during manual handling tasks. Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff and visitors.
