A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Overview Clubhouse Kids is a childcare center located in Morrisville, Vermont. We are seeking a part-time cleaner for our school. This position has been highly sought after due to its flexibility in schedule and because it is a solo role and all cleaning materials are provided. The schedule expectations include completing an average of ~2-3 hours of cleaning, Monday through Friday, though Friday's cleaning can be completed anytime over the weekend. The cleaner must complete these tasks outside of open school hours, so before opening at 7:30am, or after closing at 5:00pm.
Shift examples include:
4:30am-7:00am 5:00pm-7:30pm 7:00pm-9:30pm Could even be late night. Duties Daily sweeping/vacuuming and mopping of 6 medium-sized classrooms and shared building spaces (lobby, cubby room, hallways, sensory room, staff bathroom, and office). We have an ergonomic backpack janitorial vacuum for ease of the task. Cleaning 1 staff bathroom daily Some cleaning of surfaces (doorknobs, windows as needed, etc) 1-3 loads of laundry daily (folding not required) Fogging classrooms as needed, we use hydrogen peroxide based cleaner that is safe and non-toxic Organization and putting away cleaning and janitorial materials Completing and submitting an inventory list weekly to keep materials stocked Occasional building organization projects/ deep cleaning as needed Qualifications Must have high school diploma or have obtained your GED Must be able to pass a background check and obtain fingerprinting through the State of Vermont- Child Development Division (fees paid for by employer) Must have strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, have reliable transportation, and be efficient and dependable Must be able to physically complete all job responsibilities including heavy lifting when needed Previous janitorial or custodial experience in childcare centers, schools, or similar environments is preferred. Residential cleaning experience is also great! We will train the right person.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
