Janitor/Cleaner

Position Description and Duties:

Provide quality cleaning at a secure facility. All applicants should understand that janitorial work is a physically demanding job requiring a large amount of time spent moving, walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, etc. Applicants should also know the basic fundamentals of cleaning, such as, emptying trash, sanitizing kitchens/break rooms, dusting, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, sweeping, and mopping. Duties may vary according to assignment. Experience in Janitorial cleaning is a plus but not required. This position is located at a government-controlled facility and requires candidates to meet federal security requirements. Verification will be required prior to starting work.

Wage:

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour

Work Days:

M, W, F.

Part Time Responsibilities:

Clean and restock designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, etc.) Attend to all locations on the daily assigned route in a timely manner Perform and document routine cleaning Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as needed Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs promptly Stock and maintain supply rooms with provided materials Cooperate with the rest of the staff Observe all confidentiality guidelines Follow all health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

Desire to do physically demanding work Ability to read and/or write in the English Language Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License with insurance if driving a vehicle Good oral and written communication skills Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance Must be able to lift 30lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally Must be able to stay on feet/walk for the whole shift. Understand the fundamentals of cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and mopping. Training will be provided. Minimum 18 years of age High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
