Description Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of Custodian 2 on the Clarkston Campus. General Responsibilities:
This position supports the Clarkston Campus and the College's efforts in providing a clean and safe learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions:
Custodial Duties Dusting, wiping, sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, pick up and dispose of trash, scraping, mopping, cleaning and disinfecting. Set up and tear down for events on campus. Grounds/Facilities Assist with grounds cleanup to include mowing, pulling weeds, leaf pick -up, snow removal, light sprinkler repair. Competencies Able to make the best use of available time and resources. Ability to prioritize and self-manage workload through changing business needs. Demonstrated attitude toward excellent customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement. Must be able to work with high integrity, accountability and be a team player.
Required Qualifications :
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver's license. Physically able to lift 50 pounds, with or without the use of a cart or hand truck and able to do the required custodial work that includes repeated stooping, bending, operating heavy custodial equipment, climbing and working from height of an eight-foot ladder, stand and walk continuously during your entire assigned shift.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in custodial. Conditions/Terms of Employment This part-time temporary position (up to 17-hours per week) is located at the Clarkston Campus. Work is performed either inside or outside with frequent exposure to the weather elements. Schedule will vary during operating hours, Monday-Friday between 7am-9pm. Work outside of operation hours if needed due to inclement weather, including weekends. Some local travel will occur. Tools and equipment such as, hand and power tools, small gas-powered equipment, custodial equipment including vacuums, and shampooers will be used. This position has frequent interactions with students, coworkers, and community members. Vacation, sick leave and personal leave benefits are available on a pro-rated basis. Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment.
