QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
(Qualifications which are essential to the position) High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 months experience as a custodian Must have valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record Ability to work unsupervised Willingness to accept and carry out directions as required Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 pounds unassisted Physical ability to do required work, which could include squatting, bending, stooping, carrying, lifting, climbing of ladders and other repetitive, demanding functions Ability and willingness to function as part of a departmental team Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and parents Demonstrated exceptional service to students and staff Demonstrated punctuality and a good work attendance record Must maintain and respect confidentiality of district records and matters Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures Must be able to work off of all ladder heights, scissor lifts, and Geni Lifts Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships
DESIRED:
(Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position) Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish Experience scrubbing, stripping and refinishing of hard floors Experience in restorative carpet care Experience in care of custodial equipment
General Respoisibilities:
The Day Custodian/Groundsworker performs a variety of custodial and routine tasks necessary to the preparation, maintenance, and repair of grounds and fields. Included in his/her areas of responsibility are the stadium field house, concession stand, radio booth, and all bleacher areas, restrooms, entrances and driveways, walks, parking lots, and breeze-ways, as well as adjoining ground.
