A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Perform cleaning duties to keep shop clean. Remove scrap and refuse, sweep and operate floor sweeper & clean work areas, aisles, storage areas, etc. Clean shop offices, scrub and wax floors, wash windows, dust furniture. Clean restrooms, fill dispensers. May be required to cut grass or shovel snow. Work is performed in accordance with instructions and schedules
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Arranges boxes, material, and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner.
- Cleans floors and applies floor drier.
- Picks up reusable scrap for salvage and stores in containers.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevator, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies as needed.
- Dusts furniture and equipment and polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs.
