A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
This position oversees and maintains school buildings and grounds in a condition of operating excellence to ensure full educational and community use. This staff member performs maintenance and operational tasks, supervises the custodial employees assigned the building, and is responsible for ensuring the custodial operations proceed smoothly and assigned work is completed for all shifts. Full benefit package available. Responsibility for maintaining cleaning and general appearance of school building, including the following: Mop floors Collect and remove garbage Strip, wax and buff floors during summer Move furniture or athletic equipment and set-up bleachers or risers Set-up for hot lunch and cleanup Snow removal Remove ceiling tiles during summer Clean bathrooms and locker rooms Responsibility for completing preventive maintenance, repairs and performing miscellaneous work orders, including the following:
