Job Overview Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as an Environmental Services Associate, where your energy and attention to detail will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring healthcare facilities and other commercial spaces meet the highest standards of sanitation and safety. Your proactive approach will help prevent infections, support patient and staff well-being, and uphold the facility's reputation for excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to health and safety while developing valuable skills in environmental services. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment Handle laundry services efficiently, ensuring proper sorting, washing, folding, and distribution of linens and uniforms Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain spotless surfaces Manage chemical agents responsibly by following safety protocols for handling, mixing, and disposing of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues Conduct sanitation procedures in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards to reduce the risk of cross-contamination Assist with heavy lifting tasks using proper safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment without injury Maintain detailed documentation of cleaning activities, safety checks, and supply inventories to ensure compliance with health regulations Shared groundskeeping duties Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or commercial settings is highly preferred Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and workplace safety protocols Experience with healthcare facilities housekeeping or hospital cleaning is a strong advantage Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor care machines, vacuums, and sanitizing tools Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors, and team members Basic understanding of infection prevention practices specific to healthcare environments Commitment to adhering to safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure work environment Join us in making a difference through your dedication to cleanliness and safety!
